Placemaking: how creatives build identity, belonging and connection

October 13 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

This very special Changemakers event will host (some of) the creators of FLOAT 3909 – an inspiring group of creatives from East Gippsland who are changing the way art and creativity is perceived and engaged with by the broader community. Recognising that artists are unique storytellers and are able to highlight the value of the smaller corners of a community, its people and natural environment (and that this value is beyond monetary), FLOAT have developed an ever-evolving model that sits between art project and unique social enterprise. Come and hear how FLOAT is melding disparate pursuits like fruit bottling, an artist’s residency, alternative education and storytelling to benefit an entire community and inspire new ways of thinking about community development, economies and tourism.

When: Sunday 13 October, 11:00am – 2:00pm

Lunch will be provided.

Event is FREE.
